Conveniently located one mile east of I-94 and situated on a beautiful property adjacent to Lake Andrea and Prairie Springs Park, the RecPlex’s abundance of amenities make it the Midwest’s premier year-round destination for exercise and performance.
At more than 300,000 square feet, Pleasant Prairie RecPlex is the largest municipal recreation facility in the country.
When Wisconsin’s weather turns wintry, the RecPlex’s 60,000 square foot Fieldhouse becomes the center of the sporting action with state-of-the-art indoor courts for basketball, volleyball, or pickleball, as well as a one-sixth-mile suspended running track right above the courts.
Adjacent to the Fieldhouse, and ensuring year-round access to watersports and leisure, is the RecPlex Aqua Arena. Home to the Pleasant Prairie Patriots competitive swim team and host to large events such as the Speedo Sectionals, the RecPlex Aqua Arena is a versatile pool that can be set as either a short course (25Y) or a long course (50M). The pool is heated by geothermal power to 81 degrees, and is able to seat up to 600 spectators in the stands.
In addition to the training and competitive side of the aqua arena, the RecPlex is home to a small indoor waterpark and recreational pool. This water wonderland features a whirlpool channel, hot tub, and lap lanes — and that’s just the beginning. Little ones love the multilevel water fortress with water launchers, a slide, tunnels, and constantly flowing water. Kids and adults alike flock to the two-story, twisty water slide that’s worth the admission alone.
If you’re prepared to embrace the cold, the RecPlex Ice Arena houses two NHL-sized ice rinks that operate year-round, as well as a small pro shop for hockey players, figure skaters, and the casual ice skater. Multiple on-site programs and leagues are available throughout the year to help athletes young and old hone their skills on the ice. Stop in during an open skate session for some fun with the family!
The state-of-the-art fitness center that looks out over the area’s parklands is the beating heart of the RecPlex. The center’s cardiovascular equipment can meet every workout need and includes rowing machines, upright and recumbent stationary bikes, ellipticals, treadmills, Stairmasters, and more. The strength equipment includes free weights as well as cable strength machines and a circuit of Selectorized weight machines.
Experience the energy and motivation of group fitness classes designed for all ages from youth to adults. Led by certified instructors, classes focus on building strength, improving flexibility, and boosting cardiovascular health in a supportive, welcoming environment. Plus, don’t miss the newly renovated yoga studio, now featuring hot yoga for an extra challenge!
